UNDERVISNING / TRÆNING  LESSONS /TRAINING  (scroll down for english)

Steen Merrild underviser i western ridning.

                    Hvordan man fÃ¥r bedre "bidføling"

LESSONS / TRAINING

Steen Merrild gives lessons in western riding.

The lessons are conducted with the experience gained from Steens many years as trainer and clinician.

After moving to Denmark in 1991, steen has tamed, trained and showed horses of many breeds.

Furthermore there has been a substantial work with problem horses, or more correct, with horses with problems. That could matter from trailerloading, or the acceptance of a rider or horseshoer.

To day, the complexity of the world of westernriding with the many different classes, call for specialized knowhow and teaching if one want to compete on top level.

To that, add talented horses, bred especially for the specific event.

Lessons are performed in just about everything within the western frame, as listed below; but not limited to:

Handling and working the lariat,

Correct use of the bosal and two reins,

How to keep a tender mouth and get better hands,

Basic training of horse and rider,

Onto more advanced moves: correct lead departure, lead change, spins, sliding stop.

Horses are trained, by the lesson; in basic manners and trainability as ground work, and different exercises under saddle.

All training is conducted with the horses logic in mind and roots in the Californio Style Horsemanship.
